Letter from a Supporter

Dear Tony

I have been actively involved with supporting many animal welfare charities over the last five years. A friend gave me a very old newsletter of yours and I wasn’t sure if you even existed.

Brownbread appealed to me greatly because you are clearly not wasting funds on administration and salaries; the money actually goes on looking after the animals. I get so frustrated with the larger charities that waste so much precious funding on pointless admin and paying their top people massive salaries!

Concerning this horse passports problem this is clearly a ludicrous situation that any animal welfare charity should be penalized financially in this unethical, immoral way. Animals have no voice of their own and are dependant on a small number of caring compassionate humans to speak up for them; they have no one else. “All it takes for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing”.

There are so many potty laws being imposed on us in Britain from the European Parliament; next year vitamin supplements are to be outlawed! We must challenge this madness. Many animal rights campaigners, including myself, have ended up with minor criminal convictions because of our efforts fighting for animals to receive decent, humane treatment. There is no shame in this; we are glad to stand up and be counted.

I am most impressed with your devoted, caring attitude and will continue to support your work.

Kind regards, J.L.
